Most of the people I want to communicate with are using iPhones. The very FIRST thing I did was FaceTime my sister!! The SECOND thing I did was to Text Message my daughter & niece! ALL FOR FREE!! This was very exciting for me, since I've been paying every month to use these on my Android!! I never use my phone to make phone calls. I am SO happy that I did!!! I LOVE THIS THING!! After 2 weeks of deliberations, I bought it. I heard that Apple discontinued the iPod because everyone used their phone for music! Ugh!Īfter a LOT of Amazon searches for any version of iPods ~ THIS one popped up!! I read all the Q&A's & reviews. I looked into buying used or refurbished - Still pricey & 'iffy' at best. I tried to find a newer version, but they were so expensive! I asked relatives if they had an old iPod in a drawer somewhere that I could have - Nope. I used the 2GB one all the time! Alas, the battery life had come to an end.

I've had these for many, MANY years - 10+. I've owned 2 iPods in my life - the Original 2GB Shuffle & the tiny 4GB Shuffle (the one with the controls built into the earphones).
